Edermünde Climate Assembly
What are Climate Assemblies?
It’s a group of citizens brought together to puzzle through one of the great questions of our age: Climate.
What is the Edermünde CA involved in?
IFOK oversees the Municipality of Edermünde Climate Assembly in Germany’s continental region, aiming for climate neutrality and adaptiveness by 2030. Edermünde is a small community in the region of Hesse with 7400 inhabitants and its first Climate Assembly is moving its initial steps since last weekend, on 28th and 29th of September 2024.
The assembly addresses key areas like energy supply, mobility, construction, and landscape, fostering awareness, knowledge dissemination, and citizen engagement for effective climate change mitigation and adaptation. This happens in close collaboration with the Chios Living Lab, which explores the role of climate literacy, integrating design thinking processes and testing the transferability of results across diverse regions within the EU27 countries.
